Secretary General urges to continue pre-declared weeklong program to resist the dengue outbreaks

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 8 August 2019 urging the countrymen, particularly the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to continue the pre-declared weeklong program to stop breeding of Aedes mosquitoes and to resist the dengue outbreak.

Dengue fever victims are being increased nationwide massively. A severe disastrous situation is prevailing across the country.

So far, 32 thousand dengue patients have been admitted in different hospitals across the country and almost hundred people have been died. On an average, 2500 people are being admitted in the hospitals every day. As the number of admitted patients are not authentically recognized, it is the difficult to assess the real situation.

Considering the ongoing critical condition, I am urging the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to continue the pre-declared weeklong program to stop breeding of Aedes mosquitoes and to resist the dengue outbreak until the situation comes under control.
