Rafiqul Islam Khan criticizes Law Minister for his baseless comment against Jamaat-e-Islami

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 23 July 2019 protesting and condemning the false remarks of the law minister as he blamed BNP-Jamaat activists for the incidents of mob beating.

“While addressing a gathering organized by Netrokona district Lawyers Association, Law Minister Anisul Haque has made a false remark implicating BNP-Jamaat activists for the mob beating incidents. I am vehemently protesting and condemning his comments. His comment is politically motivated and far away from truth.

Regarding his comments, I want to assert that Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in the politics of plots and conspiracies. So, from the part of Jamaat-e-Islami, there is no chance of having any ‘conspiracy’ behind the mob beating incidents. The law minister has implemented the blame game tactic just to conceal the failure of the incumbent government to protect citizen’s lives and properties. But his ill-efforts will never be succeeded. Instead of applying blame game strategies, I am urging the concerned authorities to take effective steps to bring an end to the mob beating incidents which have increased in recent times on suspicion of child kidnappers.

It has become a traditional habit of the government and its ministers to blame Jamaat-e-Islami for any kind of mishaps. The law minister continued the same trend. Ministers, so far, made several comments against Jamaat-e-Islami but none of those comments have proved as genuine yet. As a result, the countrymen do not believe their intentional comments and remarks at all.

For the sake of their personal dignity, I am urging the law minister and his colleagues to be refrained from making baseless and false comments against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.”
