Maulana Masum demands punishment of actor Pijush Bandyopadhyay for his derogatory remarks against Islam

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 15 May 2019 protesting and condemning the derogatory remarks of one Pijush Bandyopadhyay, the reported chief of a platform named ‘Shompritir Bangladesh’ in which he stated that putting beard on face or wearing pants on the ankle and similar other Islamic rules and regulations as symptom of militancy.

“By making such anti-religious and derogatory remarks, Mr. Pijush Bandyopadhyay has violated country’s law and the constitution. I am condemning his such indecent and unacceptable attitudes.  

He has no right and scope to hurt the religious sentiments of the people by making such derogatory remarks. By doing so, he is actually trying to foil the prevailing religious harmony of the country. His tones and words expose that how much communal he is. I am urging the people to launce massive resistance against his conspiracies.

I am urging Mr. Pijush Bandyopadhyay to withdraw his anti-Islamic comments and also to seek pardon for such words. Otherwise, we are calling upon the concerned authorities to arrest him in order to facilitate legal actions against him.
