Tasnim Alam rejects the false report of Daily Star; demands punishment of the concerned reporter

Central Publicity Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 29 April 29, 2019 protesting and gainsaying the false and baseless report of English Daily Ò The Daily Star” titled ‘Jamaat hails offshoot’. I am vehemently protesting and condemning this false report.

Responding to this report, I want to assert that whatever is said in the report referring a statement of Jamaat Ameer in regard to the so-called political platform ‘Jono Akangkhar Bangladesh’ is entirely false. Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad did not issue any statement about this political platform on 27th April. So, no question is emanated to welcome that platform. Jamaat Ameer also said nothing about this issue while talking to media as well.

We are surprised to see such a report in a renowned daily like “The Daily Star’. How could they publish such a report based on such a statement of Jamaat Ameer which does not exist? The concerned reporter of the daily has committed a crime by concocting such a false report.

I hope that the authority of “The Daily Star’ would take punitive measures against the concerned reporter for publishing such false report. I also expect that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the mass confusion.
