Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following condolence message on 27 April 2019 at the death of senior journalist, noted columnist and media personality Mahfuz Ullah.

We are feeling a heartbreaking emotion at the demise of Mr. Mahfuz Ullah, as we have lost one of our near ones. As a renowned journalist, he has served the nation wholeheartedly. He would be remembered always for his outstanding role to ensure freedom of speech and also during different democratic movements of the country.

I am praying for the peace and salvation of his departed soul. I am also extending my empathy to his mournful family. May Allah bless them with the capacity to endure this pain.
