Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 6 March 2019 protesting and gainsaying a false report published in the online version of Daily Jugantor on last 5th March, which had made some illogical and unjustified propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir referring a so-called proposal of US House of Representative Jim Banks.
“We have observed a baseless and false news published in the online version of Daily Jugantor on last 5th March referring a so-called proposal which had been tabled by US House Representative on last 28 February. We have condemned the reported proposal in our statement on 4 March. Despite that, Daily Jugantor published the report once again in their online version which is really painful. Not only this daily, all the newspapers which are conducting propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami, have failed to demonstrate their moral courage as they did not publish our rejoinder.
Responding to the report, I want to assert that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have no connection with the incidents of minority attack, neither with the murdering of 3 million people nor raping 2 hundred thousand women during the liberation war of the country. Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have no nexus with any militant groups including Al Queda and Taliban. A planned and syndicated propaganda is being carried out by some vested quarters just to tarnish the good image of these two organizations.
The countrymen also observed that who had attacked the Ahmadia, commonly known as Qadiani community under the backing of the local administration in Panchagarh district recently. The government has closed the program of this community to satisfy the attackers. Reports on such attack have been published in the national dailies on 13th and 23rd February. Everybody knows about the connection between the government and these vested groups. Then why these ill-quarters are trying to blame Jamaat-e-Islami for these incidents? Is it a part of their blame game strategy?
I am urging the authority of Daily Jugantor and all other concerned authorities to be refrained from making propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir.
