Rafiqul Islam Khan dismisses the false report of online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 14 November 2018 protesting and gainsaying the false, concocted and fictitious report of online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’ titled ‘জামায়াত চায় ৭০ আসন। বিএনপি দেবে ৪৫!!’ (Jamaat seeks 70 constituencies, BNP gives nod to 45).

“Quoting me, this particular report has published some information which is completely false, concocted and fictitious. I am condemning such baseless and false report vehemently.

There is no conversation between me and the concerned reporter of online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’. I even do not know him. However, they published the report quoting me. The reporter also termed me as the Dhaka city Ameer. It is to notify that I have been discharging duty as the Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami now. The concerned reporter even does not know my present designation. This discrepancy clearly substantiate that the report is totally manipulated and fictitious.

Ahead of the national election, a greater unity has been formed and quoting me falsely, the reporter has prepared this fictitious report in a bid to create feud among such unifying efforts. The countrymen would not be perplexed and misguided by such false report.

I am urging the authority of online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’ to be refrained from publishing such false, baseless and concocted report in future.”
