Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 10 November 2018 protesting and gainsaying the false and baseless report of Bengali Daily Janakantha titled “জামায়াতের আল-কায়দা লস্কর-ই-তৈয়বা কানেকশন” (Jamaat’s Al Qaeda Lashkar-e-Taiba connection).

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have no connection with Al Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba or any other militant organization. Whatever is said in the report of Daily Janakantha is completely false. I am vehemently protesting and condemning this report.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir sincerely believe in the democratic trend of politics. So, no question is emanated of forming suicidal squad or financing the militants. Whatever is said in the report of Daily Janakantha about Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir is nothing but a fiction of the concerned reporter. It has become a bad habit of Daily Janakantha to publish baseless and false report against these two organizations. The countrymen do not believe such report at all.

I am urging the concerned authority of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such fictitious and baseless report in future.
