Police foils Labor Party’s founding anniversary programs; Maulana Abdul Halim condemns

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Abdul Halim has issued the following statement on 22nd October 2018 protesting and condemning police’s obstruction to foil the discussion program of Bangladesh Labor party marking its founding anniversary, initially at national press club and consequently in the Photo Journalist auditorium of the capital.

“I am severely protesting and condemning police’s obstruction to foil the discussion program of Bangladesh Labor party marking its founding anniversary, initially at the national press club and consequently in the Photo Journalist auditorium of the capital. The government is utilizing the police forces as its safeguard just to subdue the opposition quarters.

Bangladesh Labor Party is a legitimate and democratic party of the country. Police has no legal right to obstruct the programs and events of this party. They have committed a crime by obstructing their program today. The incumbent government has been carrying out oppression and torture against the opposition forces continuously in order to nullify the electoral process. This incident once again exposed the fascist face of the government. The government can not foil this peaceful program if they have minimum respect for democracy.

I am urging the countrymen to form mass resistances against the fascist activities of the government.
