Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 7th October 2018 protesting and gainsaying the baseless and false report published in Bengali Daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ in regard to Jamaat-e-Islami.
“There is no section or article in the constitution of Jamaat-e-Islami, that contradicts the constitution of the country. The issue with the registration of Jamaat-e-Islami is still pending in the Supreme Court of the country. Therefore, no one should make any negative comment about the registration and the party symbol of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The aforesaid report of Daily Kaler Kantha is politically motivated and far away from truth. No front organization of Jamaat-e-Islami was ever involved with violence.
The report also referred TRAC to uphold some information which is completely false. Jamaat had no role in armed violence, bomb attack or the expansion of any terrorist group. Still there is no such involvement even now. Jamaat was always vocal against the terrorist activities and it will be in the days to come as well. General masses will not be confused and misguided with such false information.
Finally, I am urging the authority of Daily Kaler Kantha to be refrained from publishing such fictitious report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.”
