Ruling party initiates blame game just to conceal party men’s misdeeds

Secretary General rejects Obaidul Quader’s false comment against Jamaat-e-Islami

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 5th August, 2018 denouncing and condemning the false and baseless comments of Road Transport and Bridges Minister ObaidulQuader, delivered in a Press conference at the office of Awami League’s President in Dhanmondi of the capital in which he claimed that Jamaat has turned the ongoing student movement into violence.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister ObaidulQuader’s comment against Jamaat-e-Islami is totally false, baseless and politically motivated. I am vehemently condemning his untrue remarks.

Responding to his comment, I want to assert that the non-political movement of the students for ensuring safe roads have become the movement of the people. This movement is not a political or partisan movement. People of all quarters and sections have extended their solidarity with this movement. Mr. Quader is actually trying to misguide and confuse people by placing false and fictitious allegations against Jamaat-e-Islami in order to politicize this movement. But his ill-intentional desire will never be fulfilled.

The countrymen are fully acknowledged that the government has engaged its party goons and the law enforcers against the protesting students, which left many students injured. Even the female students became assaulted and molested by the ruling party cadres. By initiating a blame game against Jamaat-e-Islami, Mr. Quader is trying to conceal the misdeeds of his own party men.

In this backdrop, I am urging Mr. ObaidulQuader to be refrained from his effort of misleading the people by delivering false comments and remarks against Jamaat-e-Islami.
