Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 28th July, 2018 protesting and condemning the threat and intimidation of the police and ruling party cadres against the opposition men particularly against the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami.
“Awami League is creating panic and terrorism as they know that the fair election would bring their ultimate downfall. To create such terrible condition, the government is utilizing the police and RAB forces. Police are visiting the houses and warn the voters to stay far away from poll centers. Even they are threating to pick up the kids as they do not find their father. Usually the voters of Rajshahi are inclined to cast votes amid a festivity. But this time, such charm and festive mood is completely missing.
I am condemning such heinous role of the government. I am also calling upon the countrymen to remain alert to stop all sorts of rigging and electoral irregularities.
