Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Publicity Department’s Secretary Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 7^th July, 2018 protesting and rejecting the false and baseless information published in a report of online news portal bdtimes365.com on last 5^th July quoting a so-called telephone conversation of Jamaat’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

“No telephone conversation was held between BNP’s Acting Chairman Tareq Rahman and Jamaat’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on 4^th July. As such there is no chance of making any comment as it is quoted in the aforesaid report that ‘BNP is negotiating with India to destroy Jamaat’. This very report also claimed that Dr. Shafiq has termed Mr. Tareq Rahman as liar which is also intentional. 

As a whole, what is stated in the report of online news portal bdtimes365.com quoting a so-called telephone conversation of Jamaat’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is nothing but personal fiction of the concerned reporter. It has been published in order to tarnish the image of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and Jamaat-e-Islami and also to create misunderstanding between Jamaat and BNP. But the countrymen would not be puzzled and misguided with such false and fictitious news.

I am urging the authorities of online news portal bdtimes365.com to be refrained from carrying out false and intentional campaign against Jamaat’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rajman. We are also expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the general confusion.”
