Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Maulana A N M Shamsul Islam has issued the following statement on 25^th June, 2018 congratulating Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan for clinching victory in the first round of Presidential poll and simultaneously hailing his AK Party led alliances for their outright victory in the Parliamentary polls held on 24^th June.

“On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and on my behalf I would like to congratulate Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan for clinching victory in the first round of Presidential poll and simultaneously hailing his AK Party led alliances for their outright victory in the Parliamentary polls held on 24^th June. This victory belongs to the democracy and the friendly peoples of Turkey.

I hope and believe that Turkey will lead towards peace, prosperity and advancement under the dynamic and quality leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We are optimistic that President Erdogan would play pivotal role to resolve the crisis of Muslim communities around the world including the crises of Palestine, Kashmir and the Rohingya Muslim’s persecution in Myanmar. I also believe that he would put more concentration on bolstering the existing bilateral relationship with Bangladesh.

I am wishing his good health, long life and overwhelming success and praying for President Erdogan so that he can serve the Muslims around the world more decisively in the days to come.”
