Rafiqul Islam Khan demands immediate release of Rangpur district Jamaat leader

Showing highest respect towards the law and the judicial system, Rangpur organizational district’s Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami ATM Azam Khan has surrendered before the lower court seeking bail in a false and concocted case today. But the concerned court rejected his plea and sent him to the jail. Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 22nd May, 2018 expressing deep concern over this incident.

“Mr. ATM Azam Khan has surrendered before the lower court today seeking bail in a false and concocted case filed against him by the government. But his bail plea had been rejected and subsequently he was sent to jail. I am expressing my deep concern in this regard.

The government had filed false case against him just to harass him politically. He has become the victim of government’s political vengeance. As a righteous citizen, he went to the court for surrender having full respect towards the law and the judicial system. But it is really regrettable that he has been sent to jail.

I am urging the concerned authorities to stop political harassment and to release him immediately.”
