Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Maulana A N M Shamsul Islam has issued the following statement on 28th April, 2018 demanding immediate release of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Satkhira district’s Ex-Ameer and Ex-lawmaker Maulana Abdul Khaleque immediately to ensure his due treatment.
“Maulana Abdul Khaleque has become critically sick in Jashore district jail. He must be released immediately to receive proper treatment.
He is a veteran religious scholar and former Member of Parliament. He has been behind the bar for long days. On 27th April, he slipped at the floor of prison’s bathroom and since then his physical condition deteriorated alarmingly. His family, relatives and party men have become worried after receiving the news of sickness. His condition may get worse if some immediate measures of treatment are not taken.
Under such circumstance, I am calling upon the concerned authority to release him immediately to ensure his proper treatment as per his desire.”
