Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 13th April, 2018 protesting and condemning the re-arrest of Rajshahi city Jamaat secretary Principal Siddiq Hossain and Rajshahi east organizational district Ameer Rezaur Rahman from the jail gate.

The government has been continuing it's conspiracies against Jamaat-e-Islami to destroy its leadership and as a part of the same conspiracy, Principal Siddiq Hossain and Rezaur Rahman have been re-arrested from the jail gate. These two Jamaat leaders had secured bail in all false cases filed against them. By such re-arrest, in one hand, the government has committed worst ever repression against them, while on the other hand, the authority has shown its utmost disrespect towards law. If the law enforcement bodies act so unlawfully, it may create massive resentments among the peoples.

The incumbent government is pushing the nation towards one party rule. I am urging the fellow countrymen to raise voice against this authoritarian government. I am calling upon the concerned authorities to release Principal Siddiq Hossain and Rezaur Rahman immediately and unconditionally.
