Immediate release of Professor Mujib and other top leaders demanded

Jamaat-e-Islami declared nationwide peaceful demonstration held

As a part of the centrally declared programs, Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city South unit hold a demonstration and rallies in the capital. Dhaka city South’s Acting Secretary and Central Majlish-e-Shura member Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin led the procession. The procession started from Dhaka science Lab and ended at the premise of Dhanmoni City College.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Helal said, the government launched one party Bakshal rule in the country in a pre-planned way. To implement such conspiracy, the government has chosen the path of abducting, arresting and murdering the opposition leaders and activists. The countrymen are highly aggrieved and angered with such activities. He asked the authority to stop such ill-activities and to release detained top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami including Professor Mujibur Rahman.

Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member Mukarram Hossain, city Jamaat leader Shamsur Rahman, Kamal Hossain, Aminur Rahman, Sagir Bin Sayeed and Chhatrashibir leaders Sohel Rana Mithy, Tareq Masim and others were present on the occasion.

Dhaka city North:

Central Majlish-e-Shura member of Jamaat-e-Islami and Assistant Secretary to the Dhaka City north unit Jamaat-e-Islami, Loshkor Mohammad Taslim said the government has become violent and aggressive as they are in fear of losing the power. They have extended oppression and persecution against the opposition alliances just to prolong its tenure. As a part of same repression, they have unjustifiably arrested Jamaat’s Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman, Rajshahi city Ameer Professor Dr. Abul Hashem and other senior leaders. But such oppression will not protect the government from downfall. He urged the government to give up these destructive policies and to release all political prisoners including Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad.

He said this while addressing a gathering arranged by Dhaka North city unit Jamaat demanding the release of Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman and other top leaders. The procession started from Uttor Badda area of the city and after crossing several roads, finally it ended with a brief gathering. Among others, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka north city unit Jamaat’s working committee member Maulana Delwar Hossain and Nazim Uddin Molla, Dhaka city Jamaat leader Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Dr. Shafiur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Sarkar and others were present in the program.

Gazipur city:

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central working committee member and Gazipur city Ameer Principal S M Sanaullah alleged that the oppressor regime is plotting conspiracy to linger its tenure by detaining the patriotic leadership. As a part of such evil plans, they have arrested Jamaat’s Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman. But the countrymen will resist those conspiracies and will free the detained leaders.

He said this while addressing a gathering following a procession. Gazipur city Jamaat arranged the program as a part of the centrally declared programs demanding the release of top Jamaat leaders including party’s Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman.

Rajshahi city:

Rajshahi city unit of Jamaat-e-Islami hold a protest demo today protesting against the arrest of top Jamaat leaders including party’s Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman.

In the demonstration, the Jamaat leaders said, the arrests of innocent Jamaat leaders is an inhuman move and it clearly goes against democracy. To hold procession and rallies is the constitutionally guaranteed rights of every citizen. But the government is repressing the opposition by seizing those rights. The government is making such wrongdoings in order to conceal its failures. The Jamaat leaders also accused the government of using the police forces as its own party cadres. They also urged the government and the law enforcers to behave as per the spirit of democracy.

Besides, similar demonstration were peacefully held in all the districts across the country including Dhaka district North, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal, Comilla, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Narshingdi, Pabna, Nilphamari, Dinajpur, Manikganj, Jessore, Sunamganj, Moulovibazar, Feni, Noakhali, Chandpur, Laxmipur, Faridpur, Manikganj, Munshiganj and Chapai Nawabganj.
