Acting Ameer terms BDR mutiny tragedy as ‘deep-rooted conspiracy’ to weaken armed forces

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 25th February, 2018 marking the 9th anniversary of the Pilkhana BDR mutiny bloodshed.

“On this day of 2009, the worst ever brutal massacre have taken place in Pilkhana. The victims who have lost their lives, their families and relatives are still passing days amid sigh and tears. We have no word to console them.

In total 74 peoples, including 57 patriotic and skilled military officers were killed mercilessly. This incident was a deep-rooted conspiracy to weaken our armed forces. The masterminds of this massacre are still remained untouchable.

The countrymen expected that, the government would made proper and sound investigation into the massacre to unearth the mystery and also to ensure due punishment of the personnel who were involved with the incident. But that expectation is still unfulfilled and their pathos and pains are not soothed yet.

I am praying to Almighty Allah for the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives on that day and also extending my deep sympathy to their mournful families.”
