Acting Ameer calls to observe 21st February with due solemnity and fervour

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 19th February, 2018 urging the countrymen to observe “International Mother Language Day and Historic Martyrdom Day on next 21st February with due solemnity and fervour.

“International Mother Language Day and Historic Martyrdom Day is going to be observed on next 21st February. Bengali language has received the recognition as the official state language as well as international mother language due to the maximum sacrifices of our valiant martyr heroes on this day of 1952. The nation will remember those martyrs with due respect forever. I am recalling their contributions and also praying to Almighty Allah for the salvations of their departed souls.

The dream of the language heroes will be fulfilled when the Bengali language would be upheld and established at all levels and simultaneously this great language would be protected from ill practices and cultural aggression.

I am urging all wings and branch organizations of Jamaat-e-Islami and calling upon the countrymen to observe “International Mother Language Day and Historic Martyrdom Day on next 21st February with due solemnity and fervour.”
