Question paper leakage in SSC exams continues; Acting Ameer expresses concerns

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 17th February, 2018 expressing deep concern as the continuous incidents of question leakage are being reported during the ongoing SSC exams.

“Along with the SSC examinees and the guardians, we all are equally concerned as the questions of the ongoing SSC exams are being leaked continuously. Such ill incidents are destroying the future of these examinees.

To lead towards prosperity and development, a nation needs talented and ethically sound leaderships. Such potential leaderships are produced from the students. But through these question leakage incidents, all the paths and potentials of producing talented and ethical leaderships are being concealed. To promote honest leadership, in one hand we have to stop the question leakage phenomenon, while on the other, we have to introduce textbooks in the light of Islamic principles and ideologies, which would generate honest leaderships, accountable to Almighty Allah. But we are observing with due concern that, the government has concealed all the ways of creating honest, ideological and talented leaderships. This phenomenon is suicidal for the nation. We, all have to head towards Islam to get rid of this situation.

The entire nation is observing that, questions are being leaked in all exams during the tenure of the incumbent government, even in the BCS exams. This crisis has made our guardian extremely worried and concerned. The countrymen are consistently urging the government to take initiatives in this regard to tackle the crisis, but the government has failed to do so. This is undoubtedly the biggest failure of the government.

This question paper leakage crisis has destroyed the entire academic system. Already all the concerned quarters and stakeholders have demanded immediate resignation of the education minister. But the head of the government asked him not to resign which also categorically proved that her obvious patronization behind all the prevailing mismanagement and crisis.

The students also have lost their interest because of continuous leakage of question paper. Their future is also becoming uncertain. The government has no right to push the nation towards such darkness of ignorance and uncertainty.

We are demanding stern punishment of those personnel who are involved with the question paper leakage incident. Besides, I am urging the authorities concerned to pay heed to the recommendations of the expertise personnel and to undertake effective strategies for examination accordingly in order to resist such leakage in future.
