Teachers are observing sit-in programs for 18 days; Acting Ameer criticises government for its negligence

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 28th January, 2018 urging the concerned authorities to accept the justified demands of the agitating teachers of the MPO listed secondary and higher secondary school, college and Madrasa teachers.

“The teachers are the architect of the nation. The government should accept their justified demands. The agitating teachers have taken to the street and have been observing sit-in programs since last 10th of January in front of the national press club. But paying no heed to their demands in last 18 days, the government is showing utmost humiliation and negligence towards them. During this current chilly winter, many of the agitating teachers have become sick already. The SSC exam is going to be commenced from 1st February. But the government is extremely passive and indifferent about the teachers and their demands. Such negligence from the government is painful and unfortunate.

I am calling upon the authorities concerned to accept the just demands of the agitating teachers immediately so that the upcoming SSC exam can be taken place without any hindrances and interruptions.”
