Help the poor people with warm clothes; Acting Ameer urges the affluent sections and party activists

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 7th January, 2018 urging the affluent, kind and philanthropic community of the society and also asking the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to provide assistance with warm clothes among the winter affected impoverished peoples.

“Severe cold wave is sweeping over the country. Poor and impoverished peoples are in deep sufferings due to extreme cold weather. It the prime obligation of the affluent, kind and philanthropic community of the society and the voluntary organizations to provide assistance to these winter affected peoples.

Almighty Allah often tests the faith and Iman of the people with different kinds of natural disasters to observe whether the faithful peoples with solvency come forward to help the poor and affected peoples or not. To pass the test we must extend our hand of cooperation towards these peoples.

Severe cold is being felt everywhere.  The daily lives of the peoples of the Northern region are highly disturbed due to such adverse weather. Due to financial shortages, they even cannot buy the warm clothes even. Resultantly their sufferings know no bounds and they are being affected by various kinds of seasonal diseases. In particular, the sufferings of the kids, infants, old aged and sick peoples become unbearable.

The common peoples are struggling to manage their daily food due to rapid price hike of the essential commodities, how would they buy the warm clothes? Under the circumstances, it is our sincere responsibility to provide warm clothes to these winter affected peoples in order to protect them from further sufferings.

I am urging the affluent, kind and philanthropic community of the society and also calling upon the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to provide assistance with warm clothes among the winter affected impoverished peoples.”
