At least 235 people killed in terrorist attack on Egyptian Mosque; Acting Ameer expresses concern

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 25th November, 2017 expressing deep shock and concern as at least 235 people have been killed and hundreds more became injured after a terrorist attack on al-Rawdah mosque located in Bir al-Abed in the volatile northern Sinai Peninsula during the Friday prayer.

“The terrorist attack on an Egyptian mosque on Friday that killed at least 235 peoples and wounded hundreds more is the worst issue to condemn. This incident proved the incapacity and failure of the Egyptian government to protect the life and properties of the citizens.

Terrorist attack on a sacred place like a mosque clearly goes against the spirit of Islam and the humanity. Islam never supports any terrorist act by any means. The miscreants who have committed such offence are the enemy of the Islam and the humanity.

I am praying for those peoples who have been killed in this gruesome terrorist attack on the Egyptian Mosque. I am also extending sympathy towards their families and the mournful peoples of Egypt. May Allah bless them with patience to tolerate this terrible shock. Besides, I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured victims.”
