Jamaat declared nationwide peaceful demonstration held protesting essential’s unbearable price hike

Central Majlish-e-Shura member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Dhaka city North’s Assistant Secretary Laskar Mohammad Taslim said, the incumbent government has completely failed to rule the country. The mass sufferings know no bounds as the price of all essential commodities have gone beyond common’s reach though people’s buying capacity is at the same level as it was before. So the countrymen are required to be united to oust this failed and oppressor government. He urged the government to take effective measures to curb the price hike of the essentials otherwise, they have to experience mass resentment, he warned.

Mr. Taslim said this at a post-procession gathering held in the capital today protesting against the price hike of the essentials. The procession earlier crossed severe several roads of the city. Among others, Dhaka city North unit Jamaat’s working committee member Nazim Uddin Molla, Majlish-e-Shura member Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Mizanur Rahma, Niyamul Karim and others spoke on the occasion.

Laskar Mohammad Taslim further said that Right now, Miniket rice is available in the market at 60 taka per kilogram, Indian rice is available at 50 taka per kilo, local BR rice is being sold at 52 taka per kilo, and thin rice is being sold from 90 to 100 taka per kilo. Whereas flour is being sold 34 taka per kilogram, price of lentil is 125-135 taka per kilo. Generally fishes are being sold at 300 taka per kilo. Chicken is available from 125 to 170 taka, beef is being sold from 480 to 520 taka, and mutton is being sold at 800 taka per kilogram.

The middle class and the poor people are passing life terribly due to such excessive price hike. The government is busy to protect its office. They are not taking any effective steps to control the price hike of the essentials. The incumbent government is not elected by the people and this is why, they don’t bother at mass sufferings.

Dhaka city South:
Dhaka city South unit of Jamaat-e-Islami hold a procession and gathering in the capital today as a part of the centrally declared program protesting against the price hike of the necessary items.
Addressing the gathering Jamaat leaders said, he sufferings of the general masses, particularly of the low and middle income people know no bounds as the price of all essential commodities including rice, lentils, wheat, oil, vegetables, fishes, meat, onions, garlic have increased alarmingly. The peoples are passing days amidst unbearable cost of living.

They voiced to launch quick rationing, validate TCB, to launch shop at proper price, to take punitive measures against the syndicate and most of all to introduce Islamic economic system for the benefit of the peoples.

They further alleged that, the middle class and the poor people are passing life terribly due to such excessive price hike. The government is busy to protect its office. They are not taking any effective steps to control the price hike of the essentials. The incumbent government is not elected by the people and this is why, they don’t bother at mass sufferings. They are busy in plotting conspiracies to stay in power by holding a voter less, farcical election once again.
Among others, Dhaka city South’s working committee member Shamsur Rahman, Kamal Hossain, student leader Tofazzal Hossen and others attended the procession.

Chittagong city:
Chittagong city Jamaat also procession protesting against the price hike of the essentials. Addressing the program, Jamaat leaders blamed the authority for their utmost failure to check the price hike. They also demanded for an interim government to hold a free, fair and credible election in order to resolve the ongoing stalemate overall.

Sylhet city: 

Sylhet city Jamaat Secretary Maulana Sohel Ahmed has said, the government is repressing the mass peoples just to linger its tenure. At present, price of all essentials including rice, lentils, wheat, oil, vegetables, fishes, meat, onions, garlic are on hike. A fixed income people cannot maintain 15-20 days of the month with his income. He has to pass rest of the days either by taking loans or owing those commodities.

The Jamaat leaders claimed there is no other solution but dethroning this government. Besides, similar kind of procession and gathering held in other places of the country including Rajshahi, Khulna, Comilla, Barisal, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Norshingdi, Pabna, Nilphamari, Dinajpur, Manikganj, Jessore, Bogra, Sunamganj, Moulovibazar, Feni, Noakhali, Chandpur, Laxmipur and Chapai Nawabganj.
