Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 5th November, 2017 urging to observe National Revolution and Solidarity Day on 7th November.

“National Revolution and Solidarity Day is going to be observed on 7th November. The day has tremendous significance in our national life. On this day of 1975, the soldiers and the general masses have formed a broad base unity and resisted all conspiracies and thus protected and preserved country’s independence and sovereignty.

This year, the nation is going to observe this day in such a crucial period when democracy, rule of law and voting rights are no more existed. To rescue the nation from this situation, there is no alternative but carrying out a united effort.

The history which was created on 7th November, 1975 with the unity of general peoples and the soldiers, will be written in golden letters forever. The countrymen will be revived again with the spirit of 7th November and will protect national independence and sovereignty.

In this backdrop, I am urging the countrymen and all wings and front organizations of Jamaat-e-Islami, to observe national Revolution and Solidarity Day with due solemnity and significance on 7th November by holding discussions and prayer programs.”
