28th October observed; Discussion and prayer program held nationwide

Central Executive Committee member and Dhaka city North Unit Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Salim Uddin said, the murder incidents of 28th October is one of the most barbarous, tragic and heinous incident of the world history. The democratic process of the country has been made hampered through this tragic incident. Resultantly fascism and autocracy has been imposed upon the nation. But the sacrifice of martyrs never goes in vain. Ultimately the ideological movement will be victorious. He recalled the martyrs of 28th October with due honour, extended sympathy to the injured and the victim families.

He said this while attending a discussion and prayer program as a part of the centrally declared programs to remember the 28th October martyrs. Among others, Dhaka city North’s working committee member Nazim Uddin Molla, Dhaka city Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura member Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Jamaat leader Engineer Abdur Rashid and Moniruzzaman Shamim were present on the occasion.

Salim Uddin further said that the government has targeted the potential and wise leadership as they intended to prolong the power. As a part of the same conspiracy, they have arrested and imprisoned the top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami including Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad, Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar, Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Dhaka city South Ameer and party’s central executive committee member Nurul Islam Bulbul and Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Chittagong city Ameer Mohammad Shahjahan, Secretary Nazrul Islam and Chittagong South district Ameer Jafor Sadeq unjustifiably.

Actually the conspiracy began with the tragic incident of 28th October. So for the greater interest of the nation, this autocratic government must be dethroned from power and a government of the people should be restored, saying this Salim Uddin also urged the government to give up the path of torture and repression and to release Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad and other senior leaders immediately.

Dhaka city South:
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city South has arranged a prayer program and discussion at an auditorium of the capital to remember the martyrs who have been killed during the barbarous murder incident on 28th October, 2006. Dhaka city South unit Jamaat’s Acting Ameer and central Majlish-e-Shura member Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin presided over the program.

In his speech, Dr. Helal Uddin said today is the gruesome 28th October. On this day of 2006, the Awami hooligans had attacked upon the peaceful procession of Jamaat-Shibir and murdered several activists. They also danced upon the dead bodies in broad day light. Such a brutal scene is unprecedented in human history. The incident shocked the peace loving people around the world.

He claimed the Awami goons made that mayhem as they became envious at the success of the government of BNP-Jamaat led 4 party alliances government. They actually made this brutality to create a faction within the alliance. Among others, Dhaka city South Jamaat’s working committee member Shamsur Rahman, Kamal Hossen, Advocate Jashim Uddin Talukdar were present at the occasion.
