Denounces the allegations of crimes against humanity against Jamaat Ameer

Acting Ameer calls for immediate release of Jamaat Ameer and all central leaders

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 19th October, 2017 demanding immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad and all the central leaders.

“Since the ruling Awami League came to the office, they have been trying to annihilate the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami. As a part of the same conspiracy, they arrested Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad along with some central leaders from an informal meeting in Uttara of the capital. The Jamaat leaders later were shown arrest in a false case filed with Kadamtoli police station and they have taken into 10 day police remand. The government has initiated a perplexing situation as remand has been granted for 3 days against the accused whose names are found in the case diary and 5 day remand against them whose name are not found even in the police’s case diary.

The government is also making dirty conspiracy against Jamaat Ameer. Since Maqbul Ahmad has become the Jamaat Ameer, the authority is trying to implicate him with the allegation of so called crimes against humanity, which had been committed in Feni district during 1971 war.

Some newspapers also published a fictitious letter claiming that the letter had been written by Maqbul Ahmad. Jamaat Ameer protested the published letters instantly and claimed neither the letter nor the signature mentioned in the letter belongs to him. Despite all these facts, the government is trying to implicate him with those concocted allegations. Today some online news portal claimed that the government is preparing to lodge a case against Maqbul Ahmad in the tribunal.

We are vehemently protesting such conspiracies of the government. We further want to assert that the countrymen will not accept any such conspiracy against Jamaat Ameer. I am urging to stop all conspiracies against Ameer-e-Jamaat and also to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami immediately.
