Jamaat organized funeral in absentia held nationwide seeking salvation for deceased Rohingya victims

As a part of the centrally declared program, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami organized nationwide funeral in absentia for the deceased Rohingya Muslims, who have been murdered by the Myanmar security forces in the ongoing mass killings and genocide. Dhaka city South organized such a funeral in absentia in the national mosque Baitul Mukarram today. Jamaat’s central Nayeb-e-Ameer and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar attended the occasion as the chief guest. Dhaka city South Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and party’s central working committee member Monjurul Islam Bhuiyan coordinated the program.

Peer Shaheb of Bhola Maulana Mufti Tajul Islam Kawsari led the prayer. Among others, Jamaat Dhaka city South’s working committee member Maulana Farid Hossain Khan, Abdus Sabur Fakir, Mokarram Hossain Khan, central Dawah Secretary of Islami Chhatrashibir Mustafizur Rahman, Chhatrashibir’s central publicity Secretary Khalid Mahmud participated in the funeral prayer. Huge number of members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir took part in this funeral in absentia. Later, the attendants offered prayer for the injured and crippled Rohingya victims and sought assistance from Almighty Allah for their protection.

Dhaka city North:
Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and Dhaka city North unit’s Ameer Muhammad Salim Uddin alleged that Rohingya Mulsims are facing the worst ever persecution as they are Muslims. The atrocities of the Myanmar security forces have exceeded all the past records. The sighs and cries of the oppressed Rohingya peoples have become the biggest tragedy of our times. So the world communities must come forward to take comprehensive actions to protect and save the Rohingya Muslims. He also urged United Nations, OIC, Arab League and other global forums to take initiatives to defend the Rohingya.

He said this while attending a funeral in absentia at capital’s Bisho road area for the deceased Rohingya Muslims, who have been murdered by the Myanmar security forces in the ongoing mass killings and genocide. Among others, Dhaka city North Jamaat’s working committee member Nazim Uddin Molla, Shura member A K Majumdar, Jamaat leader M A Bashar, Kamal Uddin and Shibir leaders Torikul Islam and Imran Hossain took part in the funeral. Later Salim Uddin offered prayer for the repressed Rohingya peoples along with the thousands of attendants.

Salim Uddin further stated that despite the brutal genocide against the Rohingya Muslims, the powerful nations of the world are remaining silent and indulging the Myanmar government. Due to lack of their actions, the situation is getting deteriorated more gradually, he added.

As per the centrally declared program, same funeral in absentia held in Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, and other big towns and districts of the country.
