Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 8th September, 2017 protesting the unjust arrest of Khulna district's Dumuria Upazila Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Habibur Rahman from his house.

Police has unlawfully arrested Khulna district's Dumuria Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman just to harass him politically.

The government is continuously arresting the innocent members and activists nationwide and keeping them imprisoned just to cause them sufferings. Jamaat members and activists have become the worst victims of government's ill political vengeance. As the government has lost public support and confidence, they are trying to stay in power forcefully by detaining the opposition activists, particularly the members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami. These arrest incidents are exposing the undemocratic and ugly face of the government. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against such oppression and fascist activities of the autocratic government.

Finally I am urging the concerned authorities to release all the detained members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Khulna district's Dumuria Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman immediately.
