Police arrests Jamaat leaders from Sylhet and Brahmanbaria; Mia Ghulam Parwar condemns

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 24th June, 2017 protesting ad condemning police’s unjustifiable arrest of Sylhet North organizational district Jamaat Ameer Hafez Anwar Hossain Khan and Brahmanbaria district’s Koshba Upazila Jamaat Secretary Md. Al Amin on 23rd June.

“Immediate before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, police have arrested Sylhet North organizational district Jamaat Ameer Hafez Anwar Hossain Khan and Brahmanbaria district’s Koshba Upazila Jamaat Secretary Md. Al Amin from Iftar party which is really objectionable and condemnable.

The government is detaining leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami at different levels in order to destroy the leadership of this party. Government’s fascist face has been exposed once again by the incident of arresting the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami. I am urging the countrymen to raise voice against the tyrannical activities of the government.

I am calling upon the authorities concerned to stop its inhuman torture, repression and harassment and to release all the detained leaders and activists including Sylhet North organizational district Jamaat Ameer Hafez Anwar Hossain immediately.”
