As the key political component, Jamat-e-Islami and its leaders had developed a sustainable relationship with other political parties including the ruling Awami League. Though Jamat supported BNP at that time to form the government but the intimacy between Jamat-e-Islami and Awami League became stronger during the movement for caretaker government system.
