Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 22nd November, 2023 protesting the recent move as the authority filed new false case against Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam got release after a long imprisonment several days back. The government is mulling to come back to power by holding a one-sided election. The countrymen are doing movement against this conspiracy of the government. To subdue the ongoing movement, the government has been filing false and concocted cases against the opposition leaders and activists. As a part of the same conspiracy, the government has filed a new false and politically motivated case against Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam. I am condemning the issuance of false case against Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam.
Besides, I am urging the government to withdraw the false case and also not to harass him in connection with this case.
