Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman said, our beloved motherland Bangladesh is crossing a crucial time right now. There is no democracy, freedom of speech in the country. Public lives and properties are not safe. The government has turned the nation into a failed state because of its own failures. Under such circumstance, the members of our organization cannot remain idle. Based on the spirit of the companions, the members should play the pivotal role. Ignoring fear and intimidations, they have to take the Islamic activities to an advanced level. If necessary, we have to defeat the incumbent tyrant government even in exchange for our lives and properties.
Acting Ameer said while virtually addressing a members’ conference organized by Dhaka south city Jamaat-e-Islami today. Central executive committee members of Jamaat-e-Islami and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which was hosted by city secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Jamaat’s assistant secretary general Maulana Abdul Halim and party’s central publicity secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda addressed the program as the special guests. Dhaka south city Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir and Dr. Helal Uddin also spoke on the occasion. Among others, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Delwar Hossain, Kamal Hossain and Dr. Abdul Mannan, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura member Professor Mokarram Hossain, Farid Hossain, Maulana Abu Fahim, Engineer Sheikh Al Amin, Abu Sadiq, Advocate SM Kamal Uddin, and Dr. Mobarak Hossain were present in the conference.
Professor Mujib said, Islam is the complete code of life. Only Islam can guarantee citizen’s rights. So, we have to build a just society based on the Islamic ideology for the betterment of the people. The members should act like a model in front of the people and other party workers. They have to uphold the beauty of Islam through their words and works. They should be verbal against the injustices.
He said, the vested quarters thought, the execution of our top leaders would thwart the movement. But practically, the movement becomes stronger. The government has obstructed the funerals of Allama Sayedee and hurt public sentiment. Jamaat Ameer and other top leaders are being imprisoned as a part of the government’s repression. We demand their immediate release. The law enforcers are supposed ensure public safety and security. But they are being used as a tool of repression for the government. They are remaining busy in subduing the people with dissident views. But Jamaat’s progress and ongoing movement can never be subdued through torture and oppression. He urged everybody to take part in the systematic movement to dethrone the government.
Abdul Halim said, as a member, we have taken oath to establish Islam in this world. As an oath-bound leader, our former Ameer and other top brasses already accepted martyrdom. There is many precedence of martyrdom as well. Jamaat members have to set the highest example of sacrifice and dedication. They have to acquire knowledge on Islam and other worldly issues.
Matiur Rahman Akanda said, conspiracies had been made during the era of Prophet (pbuH) for eliminating Islam. But the Prophet (pbuh) along with his oath-bound companion successfully overcame those adversities. The ruling party leaders recently went to the neighboring countries to resist the Islamist forces. So, it becomes evident that the main target of the vested quarter is to eliminate Jamaat-e-Islami and Islamic values.
Nurul Islam Bulbul said, members play the key role in bolstering base among the general masses. So, efforts should be continued bring all walks of people under the umbrella of this organization. Social activities should be expanded as well. The members should try to study on regular basis. We have to seek the help from Almighty Allah. People are suffering like anything now. Price hike of all essentials made the citizen’s lives horrible and unbearable. To overcome the situation, Jamaat members should play very proactive role.
