Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, world renowned preacher of the Quran and former MP Allama Delawar Hossain Sayedee’s dead body started journey from PG hospital toward Pirojpur on 15th August. His dead body reached Pirojpur at around 10.30 am. His Namaj-e-Janaja held at Allama Sayedee foundation ground at 1.40 noon. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman led the prayer.
Among others, Jamaat’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim and Advocate Moazzam Hossain Helel, central executive committee member Abdur Rab and Ijjat Ullah, central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain and Principal Md. Shahabuddin, central organizing secretary Muhaddith Abdul Khaleq, central working committee member and Dhaka north city Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, central working committee member and Comilla city Ameer Kazi Deen Mohammad, central working committee member and Sramik Kollan Federation’s Acting President Harunur Rashid Khan, central working committee member Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Dr. Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani, central working committee member and Barisal city Ameer Jahid Uddin Md. Babar, Pirojpur district Ameer Tofazzal Hossain, Patuakhali district Ameer Shah Alam, Bhola district Ameer Master Zakir Hossain, Borguna district Ameer Maulana Mohibbullah, Barisal district Ameer Maulana Abdul Jabbar, Jhalkathi district Ameer Advocate Hafizur Rahman, Khulna city Ameer Professor Mahfuzur Rahman, Khulna district Ameer Maulana Imran Hossain, Satkhira district Ameer Muhaddith Rabiul Basar, Jessore city Ameer Golam Rasul, Jessore east district Ameer Master Nurunnabi, Jessore west district Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, Faridpur district Ameer Badar Uddin, Madaripur district Ameer Abdus Subhan, Rajbari district Ameer Advocate Nurul Islam, Magura district Ameer M B Baker, Narail district Ameer Ataur Rahman Bachchu, Comilla north district Ameer Abdul Matin, central president of Islami Chhatrashibir Razibur Rahman Polash were present on the occasion.
Hundreds of thousands of people including religious scholar, different political party’s leaders and activists attended the funeral prayer. Ignoring the rough weather, thousands of people gathered to see him for once. Acting Ameer bid the final farewell to the legendary leader with tear in his eyes. At that time, very sentimental and emotional situation was created.
Second son of Allama Sayedee, Shamim Sayedee led the second Namaj-e-Janaja and afterwards, prayer in absentia continued all the daylong. After the funeral, the dead body was buried in the graveyard adjacent to the mosque. His younger brother Humayun Kabir Sayedee and his eldest son Rafique Bin Sayedee had been buried in the same graveyard couple of years earlier.
