Allama Sayedee suffers from heart attack; admitted to BSMMU;

Acting Ameer demands immediate release of Allama Sayedee to ensure his treatment under his family’s supervision

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 14th August 2023 urging to release Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, world renowned preacher of the Quran and former MP Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee to ensure his due treatment in a free environment under the supervision of his family and simultaneously asking the fellow countrymen to pray for his early recovery.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, world renowned preacher of the Quran and former MP Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee suffered severe chest pain on 13th August afternoon. Initially he was taken to a local hospital. But due to his deteriorating condition, he was transferred and admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital at the same night. I am expressing deep concern over the severe sickness of Allama Sayedee. His family, relatives and the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami along with the countrymen are highly tensed.

Maulana Sayedee is a man of 84 years and his heart has been stained for 5 times earlier. He has been suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes for a long time. In addition, he has been suffering from various ache, pain and other old age complications. Without the help of others, he neither can move nor stand up. Under the circumstance, he should be released on humanitarian ground to facilitate his treatment in a free environment under the supervision of his family either in home or abroad.

I am urging the government to release Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, world renowned preacher of the Quran and former MP Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee in order to secure his treatment in his preferable environment. Besides I am calling upon the leaders, activists and well-wishers of Jamaat-e-Islami, living home and abroad, particularly in Makkah and Madinah, to pray for the quickest recovery of Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee.
