This government is not elected and they do not have any responsibility toward the people, says Actin Ameer

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has said, the sufferings of the flood victims are unimaginable and unbearable. It is not possible to realize their pains. But our government is not elected and they have come to the office through a voter less election. As such they do not have any responsibility toward the people. Although, the government is obliged to look after the helpless and victim people. I am urging the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and the affluent corners of the society to come forward for helping the flood victims.

Acting Ameer said this while visiting the flood affected areas of Pekua Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. He also talked to the flood victims and distributed relief among them.

Professor Mujibur Rahman said, it is our religious obligation to help the disaster victims. We have come to you from that sense of responsibility. Jamaat-e-Islami never played any passive role in any disaster. As a pro-people organization, Jamaat-e-Islami always took stand beside the people and it will continue to play the same role. It is not a mercy to you rather you deserve it as our brother. We came to you with some gifts and if you take it, we will be happy and honored.

Acting Ameer stated that disaster and dangers come from Almighty Allah. Allah tests the believers in this way. The real faithful do not collapse in such crisis. Rather, they started relying more upon Allah. They surrender before Allah and seek protection and assistance only from Allah.

Among others, Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain, central Majlish-e-Shura member and former central president of Chhatrashibir Delwar Hossain, Jamaat’s nominee in Chokoria-Pekua constituency Abdullah Al Faruq and local leaders were present on the occasion.
