Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 22nd July 2023 as 17 people killed and 25 became injured in a tragic road accident in Jhalkathi Sadar Upazila today.
On 22nd July at around 10:15 in the morning, a Barisal bound bus lost its control and fell down into a roadside pond in front of Dhanshiri union parishad office. The bus was heading towards Jhalakathi from Bhandaria of Pirojpur. 17 people were killed and 25 people became injured in this accident. The casualties are very pathetic.
I expressing deep shock for the deceased who have been killed in this road mishap. I am also praying for their departed soul and also seeking quick recovery of the injured. I am extending my sympathy to the victims.
I am urging the concerned authorities to find out the reason behind the accident and to take stern measures against the personnel who were responsible. I am also calling upon the authorities to pay due compensation to the victims and also to take proper arrangement to ensure appropriate treatment of the injured.
