Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s former central Majlish-e-Shura member, Satkhira district Jamaat’s former Ameer and former parliament member of Satkhira-2 constituency, noted religious scholar, social worker and veteran leader detained Principal Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol died of brain stroke at the prison cell of Khulna Medical College Hospital this afternoon. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. He was 85. He left his wife, two sons, 5 daughters, several grand sons and grand daughters and many other relatives and followers.
Tomorrow on 21st July, after the Juma prayer followed by Namaj-e-Janaja at the Satkhira Sadar area, he will be buried at his family graveyard located in Khalilnagar of the town.

We are very shocked and saddened at the death of Jamaat’s former central Majlish-e-Shura member, Satkhira district Jamaat’s former Ameer and former MP, noted religious scholar, social worker and veteran leader detained Principal Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol. He was an undisputable leader of Satkhira. He was the elected chairman of local Union council and Upazila council. He became the parliament member after bagging huge votes. He was very talented student. He stood first at examinations in his student life. He memorized the entire Quran during his imprisonment.
Principal Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol has been remaining behind the bar for last 8 years in connection with a false and concocted case. Veteran religious scholar Principal Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol has made outstanding contribution in the socio-economic development of the country. The people of Satkhira will remember him for his memorable in the development of the district. He has established so many social, religious and academic institutions. He spent his living moments for the development of local community. He was attacked drastically by brain stroke while he was inside the prison. The authority transferred him to the prison cell of Khulna medical college hospital after the deterioration of his physical condition. As he was not getting proper treatment, his family repeatedly appealed to the authority to allow his treatment under the family management. But regrettably, he did not get due treatment during the last days of his life although he spent most of his time for the betterment of this nation. The negligence and misbehavior, that he experienced in his last days is really pathetic.
He had to take his last breath while he was being victimized by the repression of the government. I am praying to Allah for accepting all his noble deeds to bless him with Jannah. I am extending my sympathy to his mournful families, relatives and well-wishers and praying to Allah seeking His blessing so that they hold patience during these painful moments.
