Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has said that a conspiracy was carried out on 25th and 26th February, 2009 to destroy country’s sovereignty. 57 army officers were brutally killed on that day and we are seeking the salvation of their departed souls. It was not a scattered incident rather a pre-planned conspiracy to make Bangladesh a subservient state of the super powers. India never accepted the existence of a Muslim nation in the sub-content. In 1971, we became independent through the liberation war but still we are not free from the Indian aggression. Their conspiracies are still going on and we have to be aware of such conspiracies.
He said this while addressing a discussion program organized by Dhaka south city Jamaat-e-Islami on the eve of the Pilkhana tragedy day. Dhaka south city Ameer and Jamaat’s central executive committee member Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which was hosted by city secretary and Jamaat’s central working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Among others, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Assistant secretary Kamal Hossain and Abdul Mannan addressed the program.
Dr. Taher said, the super powers want to Bangladesh as their subservient state. The Pilkhana tragedy was carried out through a joint effort. One is the local collaborator forces and another is an agency of the neighboring nation. Still, they are interfering our internal matters. Evidentially it can refer that, ruling Awami League general secretary admitted to the media that they secured victory in the 7th January election because India had been by their side. Actually, Awami League do not consider India as foreign force. They want to capture our economy, politics, culture, business, traders, industries and every other sectors. So, the patriot countrymen should act like a sincere safeguard to protect national independence and sovereignty.
Nurul Islam Bulbul said, Awami League tried to seize the office by mercilessly murdering people in Paltan area of the city on 28th October in 2006. As a part of the same conspiracy, 57 officers were killed through the mutiny on 25th and 26th February of 2009. It was an effort to weaken the armed forces. In addition, our frontiers and border areas became unsecured due to the incident. The patriotic people will never accept the dominance of India. So, the countrymen have to play proactive roles to preserve sovereignty and Islam by forming a broad base unity.
Abdus Sabur Fakir said, 15 years have been passed since the tragic incident but still many questions are remained unanswered. In the BDR program on that Day, Sheikh Hasina was supposed to go, but why she did not go? Why were all talented army officers taken to that place? The investigation report has not been disclosed yet but why? People have the rights to get all these answers.
Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said, the BDR soldiers had resisted Indian aggression in the Roumari frontier in 2001 and India took its revenge in 2009 through the BDR tragedy. By murdering 57 miliary officers, India has tried to destroy the spirit of our independence. Because, they knew that they would not be able to implement their conspiracies in the following years if these officers remain alive.
