On 21 July of this year, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter aircraft crashed into the premises of Milestone School in Dhaka’s Uttara area shortly after take-off. The tragic accident claimed the lives of many innocent students and ordinary people, while several others were critically injured. The entire nation was plunged into mourning by this heart-rending incident.
Yesterday, 9 December (Tuesday), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited Milestone School and spent time with the families of those killed and injured.
After the visit, he said, “On the very day of the accident, I visited the crash site and the surrounding areas and inquired about the families of those who were killed and those who were critically injured. I am deeply saddened that due to personal illness and some unavoidable reasons, I could not visit all the families at their homes to check on them. I express my sincere sympathy and sorrow to every affected family.”
He further said, “Today I am grateful to Allah for enabling me to attend the memorial meeting and prayer gathering held in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Milestone tragedy. I pray for the honour of martyrdom and the highest rank of Jannatul Firdaus for the deceased, and for the swift recovery of the injured.”
Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “I pray to the Most Merciful that He grants them strength to endure this grief and enables them to return to normal life soon. Ameen.
I pray to the Almighty Lord that He grants patience to the bereaved families and helps them return to their normal lives quickly.”
