His Excellency Mr. Alexander G. Khozin, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and held a meeting with him at his office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Thursday, September 11, at 11 a.m.
At the outset, the Ambassador inquired about the health condition of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and wished him a complete recovery.
The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. During the discussion, they exchanged views on the prevailing overall situation in Bangladesh, the bilateral relations and investments between the two countries, as well as matters of mutual interest including international relations. They expressed optimism that Russia’s firm support for Bangladesh will continue in the future, and at the same time, Russia’s investment in Bangladesh will further increase.
It is to be noted that His Excellency the Ambassador invited Jamaat Ameer to attend an upcoming international Islamic conference to be held in Moscow. Jamaat Ameer accepted the invitation.
During the discussion, Mr. Anton Chernov, Political Counsellor of the Russian Embassy, was present with the Ambassador. On behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Ameer of Dhaka North City Jamaat’s Medical Thana unit Dr. S.M. Khaliduzzaman, and Jamaat Ameer’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present.
