Ten days after a successful surgery, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman returned to his residence today, Tuesday, 12 August, at 11:00 a.m. from United Hospital in Gulshan, Alhamdulillah.

At that time, Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer, and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman; former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher; Secretary General, and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar; Assistant Secretary Generals Maulana ATM Masum and Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan; former MP Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad; Maulana Abdul Halim; Advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal; Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubayer, Central Executive Council member and party's media and press Secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda; Central Executive Council member Mobarak Hossain; Central Executive Council member and Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul; Central Executive Council member and Ameer of Dhaka City North Md. Selim Uddin; Dhaka City South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud; and Dhaka City North Secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim were present on the occasion. .

At a brief press briefing held on this occasion, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders said, “We express our heartfelt gratitude to Almighty Allah, Who in His mercy and kindness has granted speedy recovery to the leader of the anti-fascist movement, one of the foremost leaders of the struggle for our beloved Bangladesh, and the honorable Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, after a major surgery. Today he has been discharged from the hospital. You are aware that recovery from such a complex bypass surgery usually takes a long time. Alhamdulillah, the Ameer’s improvement and recovery progress have been comparatively very good.”

“On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and on behalf of the nation, we express our sincere gratitude to the eminent surgeon Professor Dr. Jahangir Kabir and his team, the owner of United Hospital, and all concerned for their tireless contribution to the successful surgery and subsequent speedy recovery of the Jamaat Ameer. We pray that Allah rewards them with goodness.”

The leaders further said, “The honorable Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami is no longer confined to any single party. The entire nation respects him, trusts him, and considers him an indispensable leader in building tomorrow's Bangladesh. We would like to inform the countrymen that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is in good health, Alhamdulillah. We hope that, by the grace of Allah, within the next three weeks he will be able to appear in public and continue serving the country and the nation.”

They added, “Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has conveyed his greetings to the people of the country. He has expressed gratitude to the people for praying to the Almighty Allah for his recovery and has extended his sincere thanks and congratulations to them.”

The leaders concluded by saying, “Please pray to Allah that the Jamaat Ameer may recover quickly, returns to you, and serves you even more than before.
