Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued a statement on 24th December, 2023 saying that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami already declared mass contact and leaflet distribution program urging the people to boycott the upcoming polls and also to remain refrained from casting votes.

The countrymen are continuing peaceful movement rejecting the election schedule declared by the election commission which is submissive to the government. The government is continuing its arrangement to stage another farcical election keeping the opposition out of the electoral process in order to detach the nation from the democratic world. The countrymen will never accept this election. We are calling upon the people to be united to observe mass contact and leaflet distribution program on 26th, 27th and 28th January.

Our humble calls are:

• Take all out resistance from individual and collective position against the farcical election.
• Keep away from casting votes and encourage others to be refrained from casting votes despite the pressure, intimidation and threats of Awami League and the administration
• Refrain yourself and others in assisting the government in any works related to casting votes
• Disconnect all types of relationship with this tyrant, oppressor and autocratic government.

I am urging the countrymen to form massive movement against the fascist government from individual and collective position by implementing the aforesaid programs.
