On last 28th of May, on the birthday of the concept of Hinduism, Damodar Savarkar, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the new building of the Parliament. A mural depicting a map of an ancient “undivided India” has been placed in the new parliament building. Protesting and condemning such unjust and ill-intentional actions, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 7th June.
The Indian government has included Bangladesh in the mural of undivided India which has been placed in the new parliament building. By such actions, they have ignored and defied the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. Indian government should keep in consideration that Bangladesh has emerged on the global map in exchange for hundreds of thousands of souls who have sacrificed their lives for this country. This mural has shocked the people of Bangladesh. The countrymen are angered and agitated over the incident. We are vehemently condemning such activities of the Indian government.
He further said that the map of undivided India has included Bangladesh and other neighboring countries, which are functionally independent now. These countries are the member states of the United Nations as well. So, by making such a map, India has violated international law and the UN Charter. India’s this step is a deep-rooted conspiracy. I am calling upon the people of Bangladesh and all international platforms including the United Nations to raise their voices against such conspiracy of India.
