Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 28th March 2023 as 20 Umrah pilgrims were killed and 29 others were injured in a tragic road accident in Saudi Arabia.

On 27th March at 4 in the afternoon, a tragic road accident took place in the Saudi Arabian south-western province of Asir which left 20 pilgrims killed and 29 others injured. The victims are the Umrah pilgrims who went to KSA from different parts of the world. I am expressing deep shock over the accident and the subsequent casualties.

I am praying to Allah for accepting all the deceased victims as martyrs and extending sympathy to their mournful families. I am also praying to Allah seeking quick recovery of the injured.
