Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 27 December, 2021 urging to take stand by the side of the winter affected helpless people.

"The severity of the winter season have increased in various parts of the country. In particular, the people of the Northern districts including Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Bogra, Kurigram, Rangpur and Dinajpur have been suffering the worst. Winter related diseases have expanded as well. The sufferings of the poor and impoverished people of these areas know no bounds. Though some solvent people and organisations are voluntarily helping these affected people but no government's initiatives are not visible for them yet. It is our duty to help these winter victims by providing assistance.

I am urging the affluent sections of the society and the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to take side the winter affected people.
