Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 29 July 2020 extending greetings to the countrymen marking the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The holy Eid-ul-Azha is going to appear before us with the spirit of sacrifice and devotion. Eid-ul-Azha inspires is with these unique and significant spirits. This occasion revives our heart to sacrifice everything for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. Eid-ul-Azha encourages us to build a just society free from social discrimination and exploitation. We should follow Islam by establishing justice, equality and equity in our personal, social and national levels. By these means, we can attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.
This time, people are leading terrible lives due to downtrend in business. Many people also have lost their jobs due to adverse impact of coronavirus. While, huge number of people are living in great miseries as their houses and other establishments have been submerged by flood water. Instead of the rejoice of the Eid occasion, these flood victims are passing days amid pain and sufferings. Under such circumstances, I am extending greetings to my fellow countrymen with a grief-stricken heart.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, I am urging the countrymen to take side of the covid-19 and flood victims with a mentality of sacrificing the most.
I am praying for those deceased, who have died of coronavirus so far. I am also praying to Allah seeking blessed safety from all types of pandemic, flood and other natural disasters. May Allah remove our tensions, dangers and shortcomings. May Allah help the flood victims to get rid of their miseries shortly.
