Former Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Ameer Maulana Sirajul Hasan dies; Jamaat Ameer expresses condolences

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 3 April 2020 expressing deep shock at the death of former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hind (India) Maulana Sirajul Hasan.

“I am very saddened and shocked at the death of Maulana Sirajul Hasan. Throughout the life, he was relentlessly engaged in the activities to revive Islamic movement in his country. His has played pivotal role to organize Jamaat-e-Islami, Hind nationwide and also for the advancement of the Muslim community. He was the pioneer figure to spread Islamic dawah among the Indian students and simultaneously for the establishment of Islamic student organization.

He achieved scholarly knowledge in scientific issues as well as other issues related to Islamic rules and regulations.  

He discharged the duties as the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hind from 1990-2003 for three consecutive sessions. He was former vice-president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, and a patron of SIO, the Jamaat’s student wing.

I am praying seeking salvation of the departed soul. I am also extending sympathy and compassion to his family, relatives, and leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hind.

May Allah accept all his noble deeds and bless him with Jannah. Ameen.
