Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 12th July, 2018 expressing deep concern and resentment as LDP Chairman and former Minister Dr. Colonel (Rtd.) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram and his motorcade have come under attack by the miscreants in Chandina under Comilla district.
“Dr. Colonel (Rtd.) Oli Ahmed is the chief of a party, former minister and highly designated freedom fighter. The miscreant’s attack on his motorcade in broad day light amid the presence of police and local administration proved that the extreme deteriorating law and order situation of the country. This attack took place just 300 yards away from Chandina Police station. Despite the fact, the miscreants are not identified and nabbed yet which created huge suspicion among the general masses. I am vehemently condemning the incident and demanding exemplary punishment of the attackers.
In another statement, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam condemned today’s attack on Dr. Colonel (Rtd.) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram and expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah as this veteran leader is still alive and untouched.
